Stephenson County

County seat is Freeport however Stephenson County is made up of 12 communities such as Cedarville, Dakota, Davis, German Valley, Kent, Lena, Orangeville, Pearl City, Ridott, Rock City, Shannon, Winslow. Stephenson County was was first settled by William Waddams in 1832 and established in 1837, with the boundaries remaining the same since. Every community in the County has different attributes and specialities from their parks, schools, lakes, proximity to industry and as you can imagine a lot of farming base in this rural American area. Situated conveniently within a high traffic corridor puts many industries at an advantage as well.
